The winter I was 5 found me on an army base in tropical Panama with my family. Buddhist monks, coy ponds, the ocean and wild animals that still show up in my paintings.
The next year my principal had an artist come to Brown Academy in Washington DC, to give she and I private watercolor lessons. This is also when I became a museum hound, as Mother took us to the Smithsonian every weekend. So at 6, using the family Brownie camera, I started creating stories with paintings and photographs
while writing "my narrative" in crayon on the back of long rolls of teletype paper my father brought home to me from the National Airport teletype machine.
     Nothing has changed-
comparative culture and history, land and wildlife conservation. I'm doing what I've done all my life. Painting and exploring the world never let me go. More, better, faster--Linda RORER, Artist
