paintings works on paper sculpture
At 5 I spent the winter on an army base in Panama with my grandparents. Buddhist monks, coy ponds, the ocean and wild animals still show up in my paintings. At 6 my principal had an artist come to school, Brown Academy in Washington DC, to teach she and I private water color lessons. My first workshop. It's also when I became a museum hound. Mother took us to the Smithsonian every weekend. Borrowing the family Brownie box camera I was creating stories with paintings and photos on the back of long rolls of teletype paper from the National Airport weather machine while pretending I could also write. Nothing has changed. I'm doing what I've done all my life. Painting and travel never let me go. More, better, faster.
