Consulting on Art
Straight out of undergraduate school I worked in graphics and on special commercial projects for Charles Fraser, President of Sea Pines Plantation on Hilton Head Island before opening RORER ARTWORKS-- my international, award winning, professional photography studio. 12 years later, I decided to continue on to graduate school for a Master in Fine Arts in Painting. After nine years and three continents, working all the time, some on scholarship, finally graduating, magna cum laude. Perfect for an artist. Each country has different art history informing their contemporary work. There's a lot to the world of fine art. It's fascinating. I had to go see it and live it.
Next I gained a helpful art business background working in two national level galleries while starting my professional artist career painting. Senior Sales Director for Bill Lowe of Lowe Gallery in Atlanta, Ga the largest and oldest contemporary gallery in the southern US and Gallery Director for Jack Morris and Ben Whiteside at Morris-Whiteside Gallery/Red Piano the oldest art gallery in South Carolina, setting up and running their new Palmetto Bluff Gallery at Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, SC. I'm grateful to these gentlemen for exposing me to both the business and artists of their galleries. Learning in turn what a top gallery needed from me as a fine artist and also pay the bills. Working with clients was exciting. Not only educating clients about the art, but the artists themselves, was thrilling for me-- being able to help both my clients and other artists at the same time. Win-Win. Working with designers and design companies, as well as individuals on their private homes and businesses, creating concepts including subject, size, framing and lighting. Placement and correct lighting on paintings is crucial.
However, painting never let me go, nor did I ever want it to leave. So next, I was out on the limb of self-supporting fine artist. And now you've met me. I look forward to hopefully working with you with some of my skills. Contact the studio and we'll set up a time to speak about art.

I help people learn about caring for and displaying their art, lighting and framing. About creating collections. Auctions and private sales. Insurance documentation. Loans to museums and other venues. The story of your pieces, their history and context. Or simply helping you decide placement and display of both your new and old art in your home. Showing your artwork at its best, while bringing you that joy and connection we have with our art, year after year. |
or private and public commissionsFor myself as a fine artist creating the work, as well as design concept and in-between, gives me the advantage to create a truly custom commission that rings all the bells of my clients wishes... and I always shoot for more.
Securing commissions for other artists for you. Having worked with artists from all over the world in the galleries, along with artists I know in the United States, Europe and Africa, helps me find just the right art for private or public spaces. I love connecting their artwork- painting or sculpture with collectors. Working with the big picture. It's a thrill for all of us. |
